Overturning Roe v. Wade
Ralph Rebandt for Michigan Governor is celebrating the news that the U.S. Supreme Court has overturned the landmark 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade in its official opinion in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson. Rebandt stated that, “This is epic and every person who values life has reason to celebrate this significant moment in time. I believe this is just the beginning of some great things to come, and an answer to the prayer by millions who have diligently called upon God and have trusted His promise “If my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, I will heal their land.”
Candidate Rebandt went on to say, “Although we celebrate, the war is not over. Pro-life advocates will be in the crossfire of the decision since it will put abortion laws in the hands of the states, and I am fully prepared for that fight,” adding that “Whitmer was quoted in Crains Detroit Business stating “I’ll fight like hell!” “Why isn’t she fighting” like hell” for the unborn children? She might “fight like hell”, but she has no idea how much harder we will fight!”
As it stands, Michigan has some of the strictest anti-abortion laws in the country; however, those laws are already being challenged. Candidate Ralph Rebandt has teamed up with a national law firm, as well as Steve Carra from the Michigan Legislature to protect these laws and thwart legislation that will attempt to undermine them. Rebandt’s solid pro-life position has earned him the respect and personal endorsement of one of our nation’s foremost pro-life leaders, Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life; Abby Johnson, “The Story of Abby Johnson” (movie), and Tom Hooker, “Michigan’s Most Conservative Representative”.
“This is a special moment where we as Christians, neighbors, community, and other organizations can demonstrate that we will always come to the aid of those in need. Right now, today, there are women out there that need our help. Let’s step up to the plate and help those whose lives have been changed by this decision and show them how valuable the life of their child is, and how valuable motherhood is,” Rebandt stated. As a pastor, he has supported and pledges to continue his support for pregnancy centers, pro-life organizations, and adoption agencies which offer hope, compassion, and help for parents with difficult decisions to make.
All life is valuable, all life begins at conception, and all life is “fearfully and wonderfully made” by our Creator. That is why our founders included these words in our Declaration, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Life is an unalienable right. Life comes from God. All life.
